How to Use Positive Thinking When in a Funk

We all have moments of feeling down, sad, discouraged, and even depressed. When we learn to train our brains to think positive thoughts in those moments it can help us pull out of a funk. No matter what situation you are facing from losing a job, waking up and everything go wrong, to feeling down, you need to have a positive mindset. Find something good that can come out of any situation you are facing at the moment. For instance, if you lose your job, maybe think did you really like your job? Do you have the option to find a new job you might enjoy so much more? Try and look at the good, everything happens for a reason, and there is something good you can take away from it.
How You React
This goes along with the positive mindset, it is all about reacting. No matter what life throws at you, it is all about how you react to the issue, and how you choose to handle it. If someone cuts in front of you at the store, do you blow up at them, or let them cut? Someone took your sandwich out of the work refrigerator, do you throw a fit? Try to find healthy and positive ways to react to any circumstance you face. This will help you learn to handle situations better and be able to bounce back.
Sometimes sitting down and doing a craft can really inspire you. Maybe you like to paint, do pottery, dance, or hop on Pinterest and find some home decor craft. Find a way to channel your energy in a positive way instead of sitting down and pondering over issues. This is a great way to boost your mood without even realizing you are doing it.
Exercise and Eat Healthy
When you eat healthily and get some exercise in the day, you will have that boost of positive vibes coming your way. When you take care of you and your body, you will begin to notice an upbeat in the mood. Sugar and carbs can weigh you down and even make you feel depressed. When you eat colorful arrangements of foods and work out some even if it is a walk around your neighborhood, it can help you in a ton of ways. It can really boost your mood, make you feel good about your body, and allow you to look at situations in a positive light.
Surround Yourself With Good People
Take the time to cut out people who seem to break you down or leave you feeling bad about yourself when you leave. Surround yourself with good people who uplift and inspire you. They will help boost your positive outlook on life because they make you feel good about what you are doing and where you are. If you are struggling they might offer support to help give you guidance.
