How WAHM’s Use Positive Thinking for Success

I want to share how WAHM’s (work at home moms) use positive thinking for success. You might be surprised but your brain is one powerful tool that many people don’t give enough credit too. When you really work hard at training your mind to think positive thoughts, after just a little bit of time you will reap the rewards of all your hard work!

Working at home isn’t always easy, while some think it is a dream job, it is still hard work. It takes time and discipline, and not focusing on the negative. It is a luxury to work at home. But if you don’t stay focused, get sucked into stress, it can feel consuming. Let me share how positive thinking can set you up for success when you are a work at home mom.

WAHM's And Positive Thinking

WAHM’s And Positive Thinking

Focus On Goals

Create a list of short term and long term goals and really begin to focus on making those goals happen. It allows you to really zone in on what you are wanting to grow and gain over the next few months. Maybe you want to meet sales quota for the week and be at the top or write so many articles in a week. Whatever your job entails creating short term and long term goals to focus on. Push hard and do 110% and watch it pay off.

Train Brain

The first thing you want to start out doing is to write out 5 things you are thankful for or that has happened that is positive in your job, each day. This can be something that happened a week ago, yesterday, or even that day. Then throughout the day glimpse at your list and see the things you are thankful for. In this process, you are filling your mind with positive thoughts and it will help train your brain to focus on good things around you. In time, you will find you have a very optimistic outlook, and you will be more grateful for your position.

Example: I am thankful I don’t have to drive in the snow today. I am grateful I can work in between my kid’s naps, and be at home to watch them grow. Very thankful for the raise I got last week. etc.

Stop Comparing

Don’t look at the other WAHM’s and compare yourself. Whether you are comparing your skills or the money they bring in. We have to always remember we are all unique and bring different things to the table when it comes to working. You might work less because you have a young toddler and everyone has grown kids. Everyone’s circumstances are different as well as talents. When we compare and dwell it really becomes toxic in our minds. Be thankful for what is around you.

Decipher Thoughts

When you are thinking or feeling negative thoughts stop and think. Are you feeling negative because you are tired, not feeling well, or just moody? You might need to just take a nap or rest and then in the morning, you will feel much better. No one is coming to the pity party so suck it up and focus on your work, and all that you have accomplished.

Success

I know this might sound like a no-brainer but only you hold the key to your success. Focus on all the good, and work to growing and gaining more knowledge in your field. Become an expert so that you can master your work and feel good about it. Let the negative thoughts go, and allow all the positive thoughts to consume your mind!

What ways do you find success in positive thinking?

  3. Train the brain as they say. I love your post. It reminds me of an old Zen proverb, “Be Master of Mind not Mastered by Mind.”

  4. Goals, goals, and more goals! Yes, I shall focus on them. I am not one to compare myself with others. If ever, I compete with myself. But I easily get distracted with day to day things. hehe

  5. Positive thinking does help oh so much, no matter your job! I also agree that setting goals is important. I’ve found that if I wing it, not much gets done at all!
