Getting Ready for Baby with Basic Invite Baby Shower Invites

This is a paid advertisement for Basic Invite. All opinions are my own.

I remember the days of being pregnant. You’re a mixed bag of emotions. You’re full of excitement, nerves and during that first trimester; exhaustion. Being pregnant is no joke, it’s hard work carrying around that extra weight. You try to make the right decisions knowing that there’s a little life inside of you. While you may have a bunch of mixed emotions and be exhausted, there is something joyous about knowing you’re bringing a new life into this world. Today I wanted to share a few practical ways to get ready for baby and some baby shower invites to start celebrating this little human being.

Practical Ways to Get Ready for New Baby

Stockpile Diapers and Wipes

I cannot stress this enough! That tiny new baby will go through so many diapers and wipes that you’ll begin to wish you had stock invested in diapers and wipes. Seriously. If you’re hosting a baby shower and are sending out cute baby shower invitations for a boy then try to note that diapers and wipes are truly appreciated. Other parents will 100% understand this request.

Prepare Freezer Meals

Once that newborn arrives in your life, the idea of cooking meals will become quite overwhelming. If you’re lucky to get a newborn who sleeps often, cooking may not seem like a tedious task. The idea of having a newborn that sleeps through an eight-hour shift is unrealistic though. In order to fully get ready for new baby, you’ll want to prepare some freezer meals. There are many sites online that showcase freezer meal recipes, they are affordable and you can prepare them up in one day.

Buy Personal Items Now

You’re going to need some personal items when the baby arrives. If you’re planning on breastfeeding, purchase at least one nursing bra before your baby is born. Pick up some disposable nursing pads. Grab some personal pads for the aftermath of having a baby. You should also stock up on some personal snacks that offer you a wide range of protein to keep that energy up after your baby arrives.

Get Some Sleep Before Baby

Once your newborn arrives, sleep will become something you didn’t know existed. Having a baby is exhausting and tending to that baby every few hours will surely tire you out. Reality is, being a parent is no joke. Make sure you get some good sleep before your baby arrives. I know it may sound ridiculous and you probably don’t have time, but please make time to get some sleep before baby arrives. It’s important.

  1. Great preparation tips! It has been awhile, but I have not forgotten how hectic those first few weeks with a newborn can be. A shower is a great way to have some fun before things get real.

  2. Diapers sure are expensive. They are a very helpful gift idea especially when given in a couple of sizes. Personalized invites are a lot more fun to look at than just plain ones.

  3. Omg too cute!!!!! I love picking invites for anything! Makes events that more special when the invite is personalized
