How to Make Grilled Cheese with Bacon and Egg

Follow my step by step instructions to make your very own grilled cheese with bacon and egg sandwich.

Grilled Cheese with Bacon and Egg

Place bacon on a baking sheet, I personally cooked a whole package of bacon so that we could have some bacon on the side. A full package of bacon cooks for about 20 minutes in an oven set to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Do check the bacon periodically to ensure it’s not overcooking in your oven, as all ovens vary.

While you’re waiting for the bacon to cook, you can start mixing up your eggs. Break 2-3 eggs in a small bowl with a splash of milk and whisk them with a fork until fully mixed together, just like you’d do for scrambled eggs. Add salt and pepper if you desire. I added some crushed red pepper into this mixture for an added kick.

Melt butter in your skillet to prepare for cooking your eggs. It’s important that you keep the eggs flat, as you won’t be making a scrambled egg for this recipe. Place your eggs in the skillet and add a few pieces of cooked bacon around the egg as shown above.

Cook your eggs fully, and be sure to flip so that both sides are cooked with bacon slices found within it. Your egg completion will look something like the above photo once they’re fully cooked.

Grilled Cheese with Bacon and Egg

Now that you have the bacon and the eggs completely done, it’s time to start making that delicious grilled cheese sandwich. I personally went with a plain bagel while my son went for an original grilled cheese on bread. You can pick and choose to manipulate this recipe however you desire, but it’s meant to be made on a regular grilled cheese sandwich made from two slices of bread.

Grilled Cheese with Bacon and Egg

Once your grilled cheese is finished, you simply open up the grilled cheese to place your cooked egg with bacon in between the slices of bread (or bagel). Be VERY careful, the sandwich and cheese will be HOT. Then close up your sandwich and take a bite …

Notes for Grilled Cheese with Bacon and Egg

We put two slices of cheese on our grilled cheese, I highly recommend that you stick with one. It was a wee bit too melted over when we opted to go with extra chese on our sandwich.

You can opt out of cooking bacon when you purchase pre-cooked bacon.

You can use egg substitute, if you want, as I did get a belly ache eating eggs because my tummy doesn’t “love” eggs anymore.

Add some veggies in to make this even more delicious. Good veggies would be sauteed onions with green peppers and perhaps some jalapenos.

I hope that you will give this Grilled Cheese with Bacon and Egg a try and let me know what you think of it!

  1. I love Cheese and Egg. But Bacon is something I cannot have as I am an Eggetarian. Instead of Bacon, I might have to find a substitute. Thanks for the recipe. Can you give an idea what I can use as a substitute of Bacon?

    1. I had to look up what an Eggetarian is, I had no idea until now! Well, it sounds like you need a Vegan option for bacon? I looked up some ideas, and it seems that this is a Vegan bacon option – https://amzn.to/2ErqqHI Do let me know if that’s a true option for your Eggetarian diet as I am curious.

  2. I’m thinking this might be our dinner for tonight. I am craving it now and my husband forgot to plan the meal so perfect timing. Yum!
