When God Happens, True Stories of Modern Day Miracles #WhenGodHappens

I was recently introduced to a book titled, “When God Happens. True Stories of Modern Day Miracles” and I admit this book is such an inspiration. I have had help with restoring my Faith as I struggle through some hard times while reading these inspiring stories of Faith. Reading about the warmth of feeling God’s presence as others struggled through difficult times, warmed my heart and made me feel as if I was right there with them experiencing these stories.

If you or someone you know is struggling with seeing the light during hardship or finding Faith during the darkness, then I highly recommend you check out my featured book of the month, “When God Happens. True Stories of Modern Day Miracles.”

Whether you’re in a position where you doubt the miraculous power of God or you simply going through a difficult time and having trouble finding Faith, these stories will open your heart again and help you have Faith that God has a plan for you and things will get better.

As I struggle in my own situation, I pray each night for the strength and guidance to find my way again. As I feel like a lost soul some days, I’m gently reminded each morning when I wake up that my nightly prayer helps remind me that God is good and I’m going through this challenging time for a reason, just as those who share their miracle stories in “When God Happens. True Stories of Modern Day Miracles”, I am reminded the God is good and God is great. We just have to open our hearts.

About Regnery Publishing

Regnery Publishing announced today it will change the name of its Christian publishing program from “Regnery Faith” to “Salem Books.” Along with the rebrand, Salem Books has brought on Tim Peterson to serve as Associate Publisher for the imprint.

Tim Peterson joins Salem Books Editor-in-Chief Gary Terashita and brings his nearly 20 years’ experience in Christian book publishing—including serving as Associate Publisher with David C. Cook, Director of Marketing at Baker Publishing Group, and District Sales Manager at Zondervan. “When I learned Salem was launching a Christian publishing program, I thought it was brilliant,” said Peterson. “For over 40 years, Salem Media has been expanding the reach and impact of the best Christian communicators, so it makes sense to leverage this robust media platform by publishing Christian books. It has never been harder to market new books. Salem Books can give our authors a backstage pass to our media properties, offering them a strategic advantage to land the earned media that is so important to the marketing process. I am honored to join this team and help lead and guide this strategic program to the next level.”

Media giant Salem Media Group (NASDAQ: SALM) launched its Christian imprint in 2015 after the 2014 purchase of Regnery Publishing—the country’s leading publisher of conservative books that last year celebrated its 70th anniversary in the business.

When God Happens

My When God Happens Moment

Before I leave today, I wanted to share my own When God Happens moment. Reading this book and sharing it with you sparked a memory that I had long forgotten. I am not sure what year it was, or exactly what was going on in my life at the time. All that I remember is that I was struggling emotionally and financially. I felt like I had failed my children. I wasn’t sure how I was going to support them or move forward in life without completely sinking financially. I recall this dreadful feeling, like worthless pretty much. I felt like I was going to have to disappoint my children, and I wish I could remember the exact circumstances, but I can’t. All I can recall is feeling worthless and bordering on extreme depression.

That’s when I walked along the pathway at my Mom’s home, looked up to the sky and prayed. I am not sure how I prayed or what I said exactly, but I recall looking up to the sky and asking how am I going to do this. I cannot disappoint my kids. I need a sign. I need something to help me see that I’m making the right decisions. At that moment, within just a few seconds I felt this warmth of the sun. Now mind you it was not a sunny day, at all, yet after I spoke to the sky above it opened up and let down a warm ray of sunshine. I felt so warm at that moment. I felt amazing. I smiled. I recall feeling at ease as if everything was going to be okay. At this moment, that probably only lasted all but two minutes, I literally felt like God had shined down on me to uplift me and remind me that I’m strong and that everything will be okay if only I keep Faith.

From that day forward I still struggle with religion and the idea of belief in a God, but I know in my heart of hearts that there more to this world than what meets the eye. I firmly believe in the power of your thoughts and that one day when the sun warmed my soul, I realized that there quite possibly is a God up there looking down upon us. While I don’t preach religion nor do I claim to be of the religious type, I still believe in God. That moment made me realize there’s more to our little world down here than we think.

  1. While I don’t follow a particular faith, it sounds like these would be inspiring stories regardless. I have had spiritual moments that bring me to a better place.
