
I enjoy a simple life. I don’t own a lot of “things”, I live simply, and I love deeply. Raising three kids on a single Mom freelancer income isn’t easy, we’ve learned to embrace quality time over quantity and embrace the little things over the big materialistic things. My trio has learned that we don’t need to own everything that their peers own. Obviously, they’re kids, so it’s hard sometimes to listen to them want things that I simply cannot afford or simply will not waste money on. Some of the things that my trio and I do to make the most of every day are:
Take a walk around town.
Window shop at a mall.
Go on a nature trail to see what we see.
Go geocaching.
Watch movies.
Play board games.
While the above are simple ways to make the most of every day with my trio, there are other ways you can work to make the most of your every day. The one mission I have in life, or desire, is to help others see the simple joys in their day to day life.
As adults, we have a lot of responsibility on our shoulders. We have to learn to budget our income and support our children in so many ways. Often times, as a single mom, it’s hard to be the primary caregiver and supporter when I have my own inner emotions to fight with.
I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and sometimes when my anxiety gets roaring it trickles down to my trio. I have had to learn to use these 5 simple ways to make the most of every day as a means to ensure we all survive and remain optimistic. I only hope these ideas help inspire you to start making the most of every day too.
5 Simple Ways to Make the Most of Every Day
Wake up Early
Start forcing yourself to have a regular bedtime so that you’re allotted the proper amount of sleep each night. Go to bed earlier and wake up earlier. When you wake up early you have more time to prepare yourself for the day ahead. For me, I’ve found that going to bed by 9:30 pm and waking up by 6 am has allowed so many positive things to happen and I honestly feel better as each day arrives.
Eat Better Foods
While junk food and fast food options sound delicious when you’re feeling under the weather or anxiety has consumed you, these types of unhealthy food options will only fuel negativity. Try to pick up some fresh fruits, like citrus fruit options, as these will truly help you feel better and naturally make the most of every day. I’ve found that when I opt for healthier food choices, I feel fabulous.
Exercise Daily
The trio and I have a new routine where we take a walk every night after dinner. I’ll admit that the cool fall air makes me sleepier but the exercise is amazing. The simple act of taking one daily walk for about half an hour every day has helped keep my emotions and anxiety in check. I feel better and this end of day routine makes me realize just how amazing life truly is.
Accomplish Something
Human beings naturally feel like they’ve had a great day when they can accomplish something. You don’t have to aim huge, you can accomplish one small thing each day so that you feel confident and happier. Perhaps you wanted to rearrange the furniture, go do it! Whatever task you can accomplish today, get it done so that you can make the most of your day.
Always Be Present
Lastly, if you want a simple way to make the most of every day then learn to be present when your friends or family are trying to talk to you. Listen with both ears and reply to those who communicate with you. Always be mentally and physically present for those in your life who are reaching out to you and only ask that you be present.

I definitely agree on waking up early. I’m a morning person so I love getting up and being productive…it leaves more time during the rest of the day to have a break if I need it. Definitely energizes me!
yes, taking care of yourself by eating healthy foods is probably the most important self-care item on my list – that and sleeping at least 7 hours – otherwise, I can’t function – forget me getting anything done! Blessings!

I am not a morning person but I do exercise a lot, I also assure myself to eat better food every day and aside from that I also spend the time to listen to my family or friends stories.

It does feel good to accomplish something every day so I make sure that I have a list of things that I need to do each day. A day is too short when you have a list of things that you need to accomplish.
