York Maine VRBO Vacation Home

In November 2021, our family was going on at least one vacation every year, typically in October or November, to try to get off-season rates. Our favorite spots include the beach, typically York Beach, Maine.

This season in 2021 was before we had any dogs to bring along with us on vacation, so we could go anywhere. This one spot we found and fell in love with was a VRBO in York, Maine.

The backyard was the ocean. How could one not go wrong with this? With that said, there are a few things we typically look for when renting a space now that we\’ve had plenty of trial and error with places over the years, at this time in 2021, we were looking for a cozy space that had bedrooms for each of us and met some of the criteria we wanted.

For this trip? It was being as close to the ocean as possible so we didn\’t have to drive anywhere on our vacation. Although we did end up driving to get food during our vacation, we mostly stayed put.

I remember looking at the listing and wondering if the home would be what we had hoped, for often we are disappointed with the location or the bathroom or something that tends to be missing.

Gratefully so, this place was small but just the best possible option for our two sons and us on this fine November day in 2021.

I love that this space is still available for rent, you can check it out on VRBO today for your next York, Maine vacation.

I did a gallery above, but basically, you walk into a little space where you have a closet and a board where you can find local restaurant menus and so forth. Plus you face one of the bedrooms when you walk in. This bedroom, if I recall properly, has 2 beds in it and a closet.

Then you walk up a step into the kitchen space. I have a few photos of that adorable spot above. They have a stove and all of the items you need to cook your food. Just bring along the food you need to have during your vacation.

Beyond the kitchen is a living room and a hallway. The hallway connects to the bathroom with two bedrooms; one on each side I believe, down the hallway. The living room is small with a television. The living room has a back deck you can walk out onto and grill if you wish.

That back deck faces a small yard and has a path carved out to get to the water. Then you walk back and enter the back deck, to the back door and you\’re in the living room again.

I believe there is a coffee maker here, just check their listing to confirm. I know this vacation was nearly 3 years ago at the time of writing this blog post, and I know things can change over time.

Justin and I enjoyed starting our day and ending our day out by the ocean. It truly is a magical spot. The privacy is worth it, and while this is an outlet or inlet (not sure of the proper term) from the ocean, you do get to the ocean finding sea life and collecting pretty rocks while you\’re down by the water.

The sky was magical one of the nights, probably all of the nights, my memory fades with time, but I have the photos (above) showing you how magical that view was.

If this place was pet friendly, we totally would go again, but alas it says no pets aloud. This would be a wonderful space for a new couple to get away from the hustle and bustle of their busy life, or perhaps a family who wants to be near the ocean without the crowds.

We had a lot of fun and even brought some card games to play Uno so that this vacation was more of a hands-off electronics iff possible vacation and more of a family unity type of vacation mode.

I can\’t think of anything else to tell you, other than if you do go off-season like we did, you may not find as many restaurants open to get food. This is why we brought most of the food here. You can always look at the VRBO listing in Maine to see if they have openings during peak season, instead.

All I can say is that this space is magical, private, and one awesome way to spend time away from the regularly scheduled program that you live in this adult life.

Check it out.
