The Space That God Holds

A vintage round clock on a split pastel pink and blue background.

During the times when you feel as though the world around you is crumbling, remember that God holds space.

During the times when you feel as though you mean nothing to everyone, remember that God holds space.

During the times when you hear the word ‘I love you’ and yet wonder how someone could love someone who was broken, remember that God holds space.

During the times when life beats you up and spits you out, human beings treat you poorly, and make you forget what life is about, remember that God holds space.

During the times you doubt the true love you have from those around you that continuously show up to remind you of who you are, yet you still doubt their unwavering support and guidance, remember that God holds space.

In these trying times and fleeting moments of emotional chaos, we must remember that God holds space for us. He loves us and wants the best for us. For when we are showing up as our best, and doing our best work, He is beaming with glory that his creation is doing well, living in the way they are supposed to live.

Now, we are mere human beings with plenty of suffering and difficult times that often come from those humans who were entrusted by God to protect our hearts, help us grow, and challenge us to be better. These people whom we place so much love and trust in as a young child soon awaken us to the broken reality of this human life – we are all hurt, or broken in some way, and in turn, we pass down that brokenness without meaning to.

One day, we wake up and our children are grown, flying out into the world into their own lives. Sometimes we shoved them out too soon, perhaps we didn’t shove them out soon enough, or maybe we just didn’t express what our feelings were during this transition of going from parent of young children into the world of being a parent of adult children.

Communication is so difficult for many of us, and this holds true for communication between a parent and a child. Parents are often told to be in a certain way and never mind the various habits we learned from those before us. We just do our best, and sometimes our best does not feel like it is good enough for our children.

Remember that God holds space for you and your children during those times when they feel as though you abandoned them, neglected them, or didn’t show them the love they needed during their trials and tribulations. Remember, God loves them and He loves you. Those guiding us forward in life from another dimension that we cannot see are often full of the best intentions for us, but we cannot see them right away.

We cannot know for sure what the mission we have is, nor who it is that is watching over us and guiding us towards a new season in this human life. The choices we make may look like patterns of similar behaviors, but what I told you that what looks like a similar pattern from the outside to others and perhaps sometimes to yourself, is actually not a negative pattern or a repetitive pattern in the same way.

When you repeat something that looks similar or feels similar, yet brings about a profound change in who you are, the way you think, and perhaps how Faithful you become in God perhaps this repetition that appears as such is something much deeper, and those lessons you learned in the past with other people in your life were the stepping stones to be prepared for something that seems familiar but is rather quite different in nature than anything you’ve ever experienced.

While I have no idea who this message is for, I am certain some of it needs to be taken to my heart today as I struggle to remember that God holds space for me in the places, I feel lost or broken. I must remember that the outside world is seeing but a mere glimpse of whatever is happening within the internal world of each person, including myself.

In all my years, I did my best to trust my guidance and do what I felt was the right choice for myself. I even had a choice and path I thought I was on for this season, yet something happened, and it was God. I don’t know how to explain it to anyone who hasn’t experienced this, but I can say that it has transformed who I am, how I love, what I think, and how I perceive other people in this world.

It has transformed me for the better, and I pray that others have this transformation happen so that they can awaken a bit deeper into realizing that we are 1 all connected and 2 blessed beyond measure.

Today, I want you to show up in love and kindness, no matter how the outside world treats you. Remember that you are a valuable person who is here for a reason. You bring joy to some people who don’t even tell you that you do. Your mere existence brings peace to those who get to encounter your aura, and within your soul lies a key that someone else as the door that opens with that key.

Trust yourself. Trust your God. Trust your path. Be open to something familiar yet completely new.
