When she writes about her thoughts and feelings, she heals a piece of her younger self who is most critical of her current state of being. During these changes in her life, there must be some inner battle between the light and dark to ensure that she is ready for that new frequency of love and light.

The beautiful news is that the woman who desired alcohol and thought she was slipping into old habits paused long enough to realize that her brain was telling her a story of long ago. Her mind and perhaps a spirit up to testing her strength, wanted to see if she could tell the difference between enjoying an adult beverage in a safe environment, versus the old times she had with alcohol.

The beauty of this test is that she could see the difference between the old and the new. She made a conscious choice not to let herself sink into that space of thinking that she isn’t worthy of this love and light, and to realize that she has made good choices and learned lessons far beyond those that she even realizes.

The deeper lessons she is learning are from a spiritual realm where only God knows what level she is at. In this season of life, she holds close her gratitude for truly unconditional love that is unwavering and the ability to be responsible as an adult, while playful like a child.

While something tried to sneak into her mind and pull her down, she paused to write about it, so that she could heal and rise up. She knows what she has in her life, and she knows how grateful she is for it. The alcohol consumption has nothing to do with hiding and everything to do with enjoyment, perhaps easing a restless mind that is busy trying to create.

Maybe alcohol isn’t the answer, but it is surely a pleasure to drink and to laugh with people who care about her. So today, and every day forward, she continues to remain confident in God’s word and the trust she has placed in her choices that came from a spiritual awareness that only those who have walked similar paths will comprehend.

She lets go of the ties that once bonded her to such negative parts of her, and she holds that inner child tightly with love, letting her fly free into this season of life with endless laughter, silly games, and playful ways with someone who truly understands, loves, and appreciates that side of her beautiful soul.

So, the next time you think that you are hiding away, remember that we are only hiding away because we fear that others will not love our lightness and darkness combined, but the right people will love you for who you are, and that you can be silly and that if you do have a problem with a substance like alcohol or stronger things, remember that you have people in this world who are loving and understanding beyond anything that you’ve ever experienced before.

I pray that you find those people, or they find you, and in that connection, there becomes a deep healing point that everyone should have in their lifetime at some point. I pray that you, too, find the willingness to sit with the dark emotions, write them out, and sort them through, before making a hasty choice to ruin something that came along to be a beautiful story of love and learning.
