I believe human beings simply want to be happy. I believe every single one of us deserves to be happy. I also believe that happiness does not hurt others and it doesn’t bring down others. Happiness is something that emerges from deep within our soul. Happiness is something that spreads light to the world and allows our heart to feel whole. Happiness is an inside job, meaning that only you can figure out how to get happiness to emerge from deep within.
Happiness Emerges from Deep Within
Laugh Often
Laughter has been missing from my life. I had no idea how much this was missing until a week or so ago when I actually started laughing so hard with my kids that I was crying and had a stomach ache. Being able to laugh at yourself and with your family or friends is a deep healing process. Laughter rejuvenates the soul and naturally allows happiness to emerge from deep within.

Stop identifying with what happened to you. All of us have had hardships happen in our life. All of us have had bad experiences that leave us feeling unsettled. All of us have some negative situation that occurred. Stop identifying with the negative and start identifying with the positives. While you may be facing something bad, you’re alive to face it. Focus on what you do have, remember that you’re strong and still here to tell the tale.
Feel Everything
A true level of happiness doesn’t mean you remove all feelings of sadness or anger, it simply means that you acknowledge all emotions. When you learn to acknowledge that you feel sad or angry, address why you feel that way and quickly move forward you will find happiness comes naturally. It’s okay to get upset and you will from time to time, but don’t dwell on those negative emotions. Pick yourself back up!
Imperfectly Perfect
If you truly want to see happiness emerge from deep within, you need to embrace yourself as you are. Remember that we are all imperfectly perfect. We all unique human beings with our own unique traits to offer the world. No matter what anyone else has told you, you are imperfectly perfect just the way you are. Focus on what you love about yourself and happiness will radiate from your soul.
Be Besties with Yourself
Lastly, in order to find happiness deep within your soul and have it shine brightly for everyone to see, you’ll have to become besties with yourself. Learn to not only embrace the imperfections of your character and physical appearance but to embrace the idea that you can be your own best friend. Be content with the thoughts of your mind and the ability to sit alone and enjoy the company of yourself.

Thanks for this post. This made me happy !!
This is something I always try to work at– sometimes with more success than other. Great suggestions to get to your happy!
Let me share these few words, actually, it is a part of a dialogue in a soap opera. “A mother lion tells her cub that happiness is in his tail. So all he has to do is to keep moving forward with his head up and happiness is bound to follow.” Isn’t that so true? We keep on looking for happiness in other places when in fact, it is just within our selves.
“Be besties with yourself” reminds me of something I read the other day. She recommended changing from an inner B to your own BFF. I love the idea.
I live this post and I need to make sure I laugh more. I will have to check out these books.
I so needed this today. I read the happiness project and I try to do happy lists as well!
