How to Stay Active When You’re Stuck at Home

We’re all stuck at home with little to do. The days are becoming blurry and work is slowing down for many. Some people have continued their daily jogging routine while maintaining the proper distance between other people. Then there are the other groups of people who needed to have the gym open to stay active, but most gyms are closed.

If you’re someone who has a hard time finding ways to stay active when you’re stuck at home, then you’ll love this list of ideas that will help you sneak in physical activity while you’re stuck at home due to the virus pandemic.

How to Stay Active When You’re Stuck at Home

Get a Standing Desk

This is an excellent way to make sure you’re not sitting around working on the computer or watching your favorite YouTube videos all day long. You can purchase this standing desk to maintain proper physical activity and posture during your stuck at home remote workdays.

Use an Exercise Ball

Any time you’re doing something that requires sitting you’re wasting precious time to stay active. Invest in an exercise ball so that you can use this to sit on while you’re folding laundry, watch your favorite television shows, or any other time you’d normally sit on a chair.

Learn Something New

If you’re looking for ways to keep your brain active while you’re isolated at home, then why not use this time to learn something new?! Many online websites are now offering free or heavily discounted lessons to learn a new language or get more knowledge about SEO. Moz Academy is offering free online lessons through May, I do believe! It’s a great time for my bloggy friends to learn more about SEO.

Do Puzzles

While sitting on your exercise ball you can do some jigsaw puzzles with your family. Check out my list of gift ideas for puzzle lovers for some puzzle themed activities to stay active while you’re stuck at home. Jigsaw puzzles will help work your brain, fine motor skills, and provide you an outlet to keep your mind busy so that you can reduce anxiety and stress.

Walk Around the Yard

If you have a yard at home then why not just take a nice stroll around your yard. You can pick up debris that has fallen from the trees due to the cold fall and winter season. You can start raking up the lawn preparing your yard for summer. This will give you some daily activity that’s good for the soul and your future summer activities.

These are just some of my favorite ways to stay active when you’re stuck at home. Since we’re just coming out of the dreary winter season in NH, my family is ready to get outdoors and do some hiking but we’re waiting out these stay at home orders to see what the other side brings us for health and happiness.
