How to Stay Motivated as an Entrepreneur
Work When It Works
Yes! I said it. Make sure you pick a time to work from home when you’re most apt to be awake, motivated and dedicated to the task at hand. There are times when we have to meet a deadline, of course, but try to create a work from home schedule that matches your best time of day to be creative, motivated, and focused.

Change it Up
Don’t be afraid to get out of your home office for a change of scenery. For a while during our New England travel adventures, I was working from local McDonalds to stay motivated as an entrepreneur. There’s nothing wrong with picking up the laptop and working from the road. I’ve found a change in scenery can boost my creative mind and keep the motivation strong.

Work When Kids Sleep
One would think since my kids are 16, 13, and 11 that I’d be able to inform them that Mama is busy working her work hours and they’d entertain themselves. Nope! I’m here to tell you that being an entrepreneur to older kids isn’t much easier than working from home with toddlers. An entrepreneur tips motivation for you is to work when the kids sleep, so you can focus.

Eat a Good Breakfast
I will admit that I wasn’t a breakfast person before our New England travel adventures, but when the hotels offer you free breakfast? You learn to be a breakfast person. My favorite breakfasts included a bagel with cream cheese, an apple or perhaps a Greek yogurt if I felt so inclined to eat one. Don’t ever start your work at home day without filling that belly.

Get a Good Night’s Sleep
Yes! Not only is it important for kids to get a good night’s sleep, but entrepreneurs must get into a deep sleep every night in order to get that brain motivated to work. If you truly want to stay motivated as an entrepreneur then your brain must have time to recoup from that busy workday you just put in. So be sure to set a bedtime and wake up time that remains the same every day.

Use Earbuds
I finally found a pair of earbuds that my sons’ haven’t ruined yet. I put them into my ears and voila! I couldn’t hear the background noise, which meant this Mama could stay motivated as an entrepreneur during a busy workday. Earbuds or noise-canceling headphones are the perfect addition for any entrepreneur who needs to stay focused on tasks when kids are in the background.
I am very aware that these tips are just a basic start to find out how to stay motivated as an entrepreneur. I know that you’re going to have to find your own way, tips, and tricks to keep that motivation strong, but I do hope these tips will provide you with a few ideas that will work for you.
Being an entrepreneur is something to be PROUD of, I honestly forget that I’ve been working as an entrepreneur for 13 years now, that’s craziness! As a long-time entrepreneur, I love trying to find ways to share my tricks of the trade with others.
