Jenny the Pug Helps with Autism?

I will never forget the day that I realized Jenny the Pug was very aware of my middle kiddo’s need to calm before bed. We had tried so many different routines. At one point I started laying near him and just letting my calming aura or energy transition to my middle kiddo to see if that would help calm him. I believe in our ability to calm others through energy. It seemed to work a few times, but as with most issues my son with autism has for sensory stuff, solutions only work for so long. Each time I have to try a new solution for something, it can get challenging.

I was so thankful to find out that Jenny the Pug actually started to sleep with my middle kiddo. She knew he needed her presence. One night I put her on his bed next to him and before I knew it, she would sleep next to my middle kiddo each night. An interesting fact that I found out about Jenny is that she will stay next to my middle kiddo on his bed until he’s fast asleep. Only then does she jump down and leave his bed. I am amazed at how helpful this 11-year-old pug has been to my trio. She really is our little furry child.
