These amazing nuts that are sweetened with Canadian maple syrup have been fun to try. The company sent me a huge box of options to taste test, and I have to say, the Chipotle pecan may just be my favorite. Continue reading for I share a recipe I craft up using those just two nights ago.

This package of amazingness arrived with a party park for 6, moonshine flavored nuts, cinnamon flavored nuts, and much more! The family had a blast trying to taste test some of the pecans and walnuts, oh and there was one option of almonds.

I am not a huge almond fan, having had multiple teeth pulled, including my front tooth, and with further dental work needed, it\’s difficult to chew almonds. With that said, if you don\’t mind a harder nut, the almonds tasted delicious.

I preferred the walnuts and the pecans since my teeth are lacking 😉

We recently went to Star Island and had to bring these pear ginger walnut treats along for just shy of a 2-hour drive to our sea coast here in New Hampshire. I will share more about the road trip over on Hot New England for those who want to keep up with travel adventures in the New England Region of the world.

These didn\’t last long, and the flavor of maple syrup on every nut in each box that Jewels Under the Kilt offers is a delightful flavor. I wasn\’t quite sure how some of these would taste with a sweet addition, but the founder of this brand nailed it!

Speaking of which …

About the Founder of Jewels Under the Kilt

In 2010, Elisabeth Burrow and her partner moved to a farm outside Fergus, stepping into a new chapter of their lives. Many doubted she would adapt, seeing her only as the outgoing, cheerful city woman they knew from work. However, those who truly knew her, especially the seniors she had connected with throughout her career, recognized her adventurous spirit and knew she would thrive. They were right, as she rediscovered her adventurous spirit, exploring every corner of their farm and the surrounding areas, reconnecting with the tactile joys of life.

Her creative energy surged back with the intensity of a tornado. She started with growing vegetables and flowers, but her curiosity led her to research whether they could grow nuts. To her delight, she discovered they could. In 2013, Elisabeth and her partner planted 150 nut and fruit trees. Around the same time, they received the family’s annual jars of maple syrup. While she found syrup a bit too sweet, it was perfect for masking the flavors of the nuts she was buying.

Elisabeth began experimenting with different recipes in her head, refining them until she developed her unique process for roasting nuts. It turned out she had a natural talent and passion for creating flavored nuts. This was the birth of Jewels Under the Kilt.

Banana Chipotle Pecan Muffins

I was super duper excited to try my hand at making a favorite banana muffin recipe with these delightful nuts. These were so tasty that the 15 muffins I made were gone the same night. I must make more!
