It happens to the best of us. We get stressed out, overwhelmed, place too much upon our shoulders and then it hits us … negative thoughts. Once you start to allow one negative thought into your mind, it opens the door to fully draining you emotionally and physically. While I know all too well that negative thoughts can consume and divide you from those you love most, it still happens. We are all imperfect human beings and it’s quite impossible to stay focused on the positive at all times.
I like my life easy going, anxiety free and worry free – don’t we all?
Listen, Hear, Pay Attention
The trick to figuring out if negative thoughts are consuming your entire being is to listen to those around you. In addition to hearing what others are saying to you, think about how you sound when you speak. Basically we can be more aware of how we feel and how we are responding simply by hearing, fully hearing what is coming out of our mouth. This is the first step to recognizing and admitting that negative thoughts have consumed you.
Figure Out Why
Negative thoughts have consumed you and now you have realized the true extent of how deep this has gone. The next step to figuring out what to do when negative thoughts consume you is to determine why. There may be larger triggers, small triggers or a traumatic experience that occurred pushing you downward into this negative thought process. Figure out why you are being consumed by negativity.
Leave Social Media Out of It
Facebook specifically is a great place to network with like-minded individuals. This is also the most famous platform to bring out the negative and drama in people. Now that you have figured out negative thoughts have consumed you and why, it’s time to be a little quieter on social media. The whole world doesn’t need to see you have a mental breakdown, work thru this privately behind closed doors.
Seek Help and Assistance
Depending upon how deeply rooted these negative thoughts are, you need to seek professional help. I personally have used counseling services many times in my life for various reasons. Counseling has always worked out well for me, but it’s on you to figure out what type of help or assistance will guide you forward towards positive thoughts again. Seeking help and assistance will allow you to have long term success in getting yourself back.
Don’t Give Yourself a Hard Time
Do not beat yourself up and give yourself a hard time. Negative thoughts can consume anyone. We all have our limits as to what we can mentally handle. If negative thoughts are consuming your mind and soul, this simply means you have reached a limit and need to pause to find resolve. Focus on accepting that you are imperfect and clearly your mind is on overload. It’s okay.
Embrace New Ideas
This is going to be the last tip I share with you and quite possibly the hardest. You see, when negative thoughts consume us we feel too horrible to see any light. We have little to no ability to showcase love and negative thoughts push everyone away. Embrace new ideas and ways on how you can get yourself back on a happy track. Read helpful articles, seek professional help, do something to get better!
Let Me Leave you With This
Let me end this article with a positive message we all need from time to time, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Remember that happily ever after we have grown to know doesn’t exist in that way. We are imperfect human beings fully capable of showing much love but love isn’t sunshine and rainbows – love of our self and love of others is a trying, emotionally, hurtful process that can lead to a beautiful long, lived life. Be open to suggestions, seeking professional help and doing something to work a balance in your life so that you can feel better, be better and think more positive.
