I\’ve been searching for new things to do in New England for some family fun with teens, and finally found this beauty! Apparently, this attraction called Scenic RailRiders is in its 6th season, but here I am never having heard of them before.

Scenic RailRiders is located in Concord, NH, and they have leased out a part of the old railroad area to use for their bicycles. Not just any bicycle, these are some pretty nifty ones that ride on the train tracks. I believe it\’s about a 6.5-mile trip, it takes about an hour and a half, although they do say on their website to prepare for about 2 hours.

The length will depend on how big of a group they have. We were part of a smaller group today, in the rain.

Let\’s just get this out of the way, it\’s $90 or so for a two-seater and $160 for a 4 seater bicycle as shown above. We had the four-seater since there were three of us going together. Don\’t worry about getting a photo of you guys on the bike, the staff is super friendly!

While $160 sounds like a lot of money, you probably could spend that much in a week or two dining out. I say give that up, and try this attraction at least once in your lifetime when you\’re in the area. 😉

In all honesty, think about 4 people x whatever ticket price you pay at amusement parks or local fairs combined with the price of food & tickets …. $160 isn\’t that much when you look at it that way. So be sure to save up some pennies, make some different choices, and when you get the funds – at least try this one time.

So, here\’s some more about this location and the actual attraction; the peddles are easy to use, they literally move so easily that a small child could use it. Before you get going the staff comes around to make sure the seats are adjusted properly, and yes you have the wear the lap belt seat belt for safety. There\’s a basket in the back of the bicycle where you can put a small bag or pocketbook.

I am not good at bicycle riding, for long distances. It usually makes my heart rate go all wonky. That did not occur during this event.

There is a 300lb weight limit per bicycle seat, and this is enforced! They may weigh you in to make sure that the bicycle seats aren\’t being pushed beyond their safety limits.

This is a family-owned location that opened in 2019 after two years of research and investigation. They are among a small amount of attractions like this, and their specific wheeled vehicle is made from scratch by their family.

This is truly a great way to support a family-owned business right in New Hampshire, and it\’s in the cute little city of Concord, NH. There are restaurants all over the place to enjoy after you get your exercise on, if that\’s your thing.

Please do visit their website, I cannot even begin to share all of the FAQs I had before going, but I can tell you that they have a weight limit, the staff is friendly, and they have port-a-potties there so you can go pee before getting on the bike.

Scenic Railriders is worth a visit in Concord, NH. Something unique for sure. Family owned. They rent the abandoned portion of the railroad track here. Just something worth supporting if you find yourself in the area. 😇 Got my exercise in 🚴‍♀️

Before I finalize this post, here is our family rank. You see, we enjoyed the physical activity, and the fact that it rained played no part in our family ranking. We determined it was a 7.5 for being a unique location, but it didn\’t quite hit the 9 or 10 scale for us due to the shorter distance and the fact that it just wasn\’t as exciting as some of the other attractions we\’ve been thus far.

We all do feel that everyone who is capable of doing this should do it at least once. We are super grateful that we spent some time there today. It was worth it.
