No matter where our New England adventures bring us, there’s one thing I can always count on – a WiFi connection at a local Dunkin’ or McDonald’s. The boys are able to connect their phones or laptop to watch YouTube or do some homeschool work and I can get my freelance writing work done. Being able to work from the road while traveling is something that helps keep the family afloat.
Today I wanted to give a shoutout to a few McDonald’s I’ve traveled to and Dunkin’ locations as a means to say THANK YOU for being a place where entrepreneurs can work no matter where they are. A good meal, a nice cup of coffee and a friendly environment are just a few reasons why I love being able to connect to work at Dunkin’ and McDonald’s all over the New England area.
Working From the Road McDonald’s & Dunkin’ Keep Me Going
Claremont, NH McDonald’s
The manager here didn’t make me feel comfortable at first. I believe he’s the manager. He just seemed standoff-ish. Then I started going here more often and realize that perhaps my social anxiety was making me feel that way. In all reality the manager is super nice, welcoming and well, when it’s busy he’s just very focused on making sure his customers are provided for.
I have enjoyed being able to set up shop at Claremont, NH McDonald’s more than once. My other half works down the road so we can easily meet up here when he’s out of work when we’re in between our camping or hotel stays. The Wi-Fi is stable, the salad is delicious and there’s one plugin near the back of this restaurant where I can refuel my laptop when the power runs low. I’m very pleased with the friendliness, cleanliness and overall atmosphere at the Claremont, NH McDonald’s. Also, when it’s nice out we can sit out at the tables to work in the fresh air.
Claremont, NH Dunkin’
There’s nothing I love more than a nice hot XL cup of coffee at Claremont, NH Dunkin’. This location has such a clean inside and friendly environment. This is for sure the youngest child’s favorite place to get a jelly donut and a bottle of orange juice. The last time I used this facility as a place to work, I was also with my other half. We ordered breakfast and were able to connect to the Wi-Fi to reserve our next New England travel destination with ease.
I don’t have much more to say other than their everything bagels are to die for. I love them with extra cream cheese OR sausage and cheese melted in between those bagel buns. The people who work here always make me feel welcome and are super nice whenever I venture this way to get some freelance writing work done.
West Lebanon, NH McDonald’s
Now this location gave us a funny story to tell. While we had lunch here as a family, it’s also a great location to get some work done if you’re traveling and just need a solid Wi-Fi connection with a laptop to work. There were workers everywhere at the West Lebanon, NH McDonald’s mopping and delivering the food to your table. Yes, it’s true. At this McDonald’s you place your order and get a number to put at your table. A worker then delivers your meal to your table. It’s pretty neat.
Except … the time we went here they LOST OUR ORDER. I am not even kidding. We sat there super patient, watching everyone else get their food. At first, it was just ice cream cones being delivered, so we figured that would make sense as we ordered more than a little treat, we ordered our lunch for four people. Then we finally realized that everyone in the West Lebanon, NH McDonald’s was eating and we had no food!
It was all good though, the manager rectified the situation with his honest reply that they simply LOST OUR ORDER and gave us some coupons for free sandwiches on another visit. They quickly got our order ready and delivered it to our table. The manager apologized profusely for this error, but at the end of the day, we were very pleased that he was just honest with us and fixed it. There’s nothing better than having a manager who can admit a mistake, rectify it and let you know they’re truly sorry.

Overall Thoughts About Dunkin’ and McDonald’s
I’m honestly pleased with the many locations around the New England area that provide you with a great New England destination option to work while traveling in this beautiful Northeast area of the United States. Each location of Dunkin’ and McDonald’s offer a different environment to some extent, new faces of management and workers as well as a stable Wi-Fi connection to get your work done.
If you’re on the road and need to connect to a Wi-Fi connection, I highly advise you find yourself a Dunkin’ or McDonald’s restaurant. While you’re there, try the McDonald’s side garden salad with ranch or the Dunkin’ everything bagel, they’re both delicious options!
I love Dunkin Donuts!!! I love that McDonalds has been changing up their menu and offering more and more!
I didn’t realize that McDonalds had free wi-fi! That’s so convenient and I think all restaurants should offer it!
that was nice of the manager to give you the coupons after they lost your meal. so weird how they lost it hehe. when you’re on the road do you ever go to panera bread or cracker barrel?
Joy at The Joyous Living
The closest Cracker Barrel to us is about 2 hours away. Panera Bread though, much closer. I’ve never visited that location before. Is Panera Bread a good place to sit, eat and use Wi-Fi for work?
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’ve never been to a Dunkin’ Donuts (I’m from Canada, and we don’t have a DD here). Even still, on my visits to the States, I’ve never made it over to one. I’ll have to stop in on my trip over next week.
McDonald’s and Dunkin’ Donuts are my two favorite fast food restaurants. Their meals fill me up and their coffee is good . We have both Dunkin’ Donuts and McDonald’s branches just walking distance from our home. 🙂
I never considered that but it’s actually a very smart stop for road trips! They offer great service, assorted food and drink, clean locations and of course, that ever-necessary wifi.
Well, I’m a big fan of Dunkin Donuts! I love their sandwiches apart from the chocobutternut donut! It’s heaven for me!
