Tips to Reduce Stress on a Budget
These tips may include affiliate links, but all are based on a variety of ways I’ve worked to reflect upon my current life to reduce stress on a budget. I do hope that some of these tips to reduce stress guide you forward in embracing the fact that sometimes taking a break is necessary and acceptable.
Watch a TV Show
Lucifer is my TV show of choice, via Netflix on our Nintendo Wii U.
Eat an Apple
You know what they say, an apple a day keeps the stress away 😉
Take a Hike
Get out there and enjoy the fresh air. Nature provides a peaceful release of stress, anxiety and all things bad.
Go Swimming
There’s nothing more relaxing than a swim in an inground pool. It’s even better when it’s a heated indoor pool, but alas, we can’t be too greedy.
Listen to Music
There’s a reason Occupational Therapy had my middle doing music therapy, it works to reduce anxiety and stress.
Exercise
You may not have access to a fitness center, but do something to get that heart rate pumping. It will help reduce stress on a budget.
Hug Someone
A 20-second hug is all you need to get that stress reduced. Don’t believe me? Just try it!
Do Laundry
Okay, maybe this isn’t your cup of tea, but sometimes it can help reduce stress. It works for someone who enjoys this household chore!
Stop to Smell the Flowers
It’s true, the simple scent of some flowers can help reduce stress. I mean, it can also set your allergies into overdrive, but whatever. My youngest son likes to pick me flowers!
Take a Nap
Sometimes I send the kids to bed, go take a nap! This helps reduce stress for all ages, well, it at least helps us handle stress with a level head 😉
Enjoy a Rootbeer Float
If all else fails? Treat yourself to a rootbeer float. I mean, it works for me. This brings me back to a childhood state of mind and is what I use to remind the kids that adulting is not very fun. We don’t get to have rootbeer floats as often as kids do 🙂
Anyways, there you have it, the best tips I have for you to reduce stress on a budget. I also had another tip, eat tacos!
Whatever works for you!
