Whenever I hear one of my kids wish to be an adult I tell them, “NO NO NO” Do not wish for such things! Being an adult is full of stress, and most of that stress we create ourself.  If you’re suffering from that overwhelming feeling that you’re not doing it right, then make time to pause.

I wanted you to look at these tips to reduce stress on a budget. Find something that will work for your given situation. Perhaps you can’t go swimming, but you could eat something healthy. Perhaps you can’t take a hike, but you could walk around your neighborhood.

Listen to Music

Stop to Smell the Flowers

It’s true, the simple scent of some flowers can help reduce stress. I mean, it can also set your allergies into overdrive, but whatever. My youngest son likes to pick me flowers! 

Take a Nap

Sometimes I send the kids to bed, go take a nap! This helps reduce stress for all ages, well, it at least helps us handle stress with a level head 😉

Enjoy a Rootbeer Float

If all else fails? Treat yourself to a rootbeer float. I mean, it works for me. This brings me back to a childhood state of mind and is what I use to remind the kids that adulting is not very fun. We don’t get to have rootbeer floats as often as kids do 🙂

  5. I love going for a hike when I feel stressed. I also enjoy playing with my brother and sister’s dogs and cats; it’s a great stress reliever!
