How Can Pathlock Help?
Pathlock maps and normalizes any security methodology, including Users, Roles, Actions, and Permissions, from any business application and pushes that information back into SAP Access Control to make consistent, fine-grained risk analysis possible.
Pathlock is an API that maps security data from other systems into SAP Access Control, thereby giving the system visibility of all user roles and permissions across multiple applications. Pathlock is available on SAP Marketplace ( Path Lock ) and is compatible with SAP NetWeaver.
Pathlock’s security mapping capability enables organizations to identify external applications that house sensitive, non-SAP data, and then encrypts, stores, and protects that data through a central system: SAP Access Control. Pathlock users cannot be mapped from a specific source system to a user in the SAP system.
Pathlock users are not mapped directly from an internal or external application to users in SAP Access Control. Pathlock provides additional features that make it possible for organizations to:
- Identify and map users from multiple internal and/or external security systems to a single SAP user.
- Reduce the effort required to populate the Pathlock user mapping tables based on data that already exists within an organization’s ERP system(s). Typically, this is accomplished by selecting from predefined business roles ( PathLock Roles ) that are already defined within the organization. Pathlock Roles allow Pathlock users to be mapped from predefined business roles within an ERP system.
- Pathlock also includes user mapping tools to manage complex enterprise security requirements and provides reporting functionality that enables organizations to view mapping data as necessary.
Lastly, install Pathlock to map Pathlock users across multiple applications, including legacy systems, and ensure consistent user access through SAP Access Control.
