If you’re a lover of coffee and the occasional pastry then you’re going to love your time in Toronto. This city is a diverse, clean place that is home to made trendy cafés and some hidden gems that are just waiting to be discovered. Let’s take a close look at some of Toronto’s best cafés so you know where you should go to get a cup of the good stuff:
Balzac’s
Located at 55 Mill Street, Balzac’s is a very trendy café that seems to be situated in an old warehouse. With a range of different retro-looking signs on the wall advertising coffee, this café is not what you would expect, but that’s why it works.
While this place is often quite busy once you can find a seat you’re in for a real treat. The coffee here is great and there’s a really good atmosphere too. Reasonably priced and selling pastries, muffins and traditional café fare, if you want to enjoy a drink somewhere different, come to Balzac’s.
Tim Hortons
While Tim Hortons is primarily a fast food chain it does serve some really good coffee. Found at 207 Queens Quay, this café serves up cups of the good stuff along with doughnuts, bagels, paninis, and other fast food items. Although you may not necessarily want to spend your holiday in Canada in a fast food joint grabbing a quick cup of coffee here will not disappoint.
Usually very clean and not too busy except at lunch and dinner times, this Tim Hortons outlet is ideal if you’re spending the day shopping and fancy a cup of Jo.
Jimmy’s Coffee
Located at 191 Baldwin Street, Kensington Market, Jimmy’s Coffee is a very modern café that serves vegan-friendly food and great coffee. Complete with a fireplace, rows of books and ornaments on a floor to ceiling bookshelf this café really is something different. With a natural charm and a relaxed atmosphere, if you want to put your feet up and relax, this is the place to be.
With an outdoor seating area that is the perfect place to relax when you want to enjoy the Toronto sun, Jimmy’s Coffee is a must-visit coffee shop thanks to its quality coffee and unique décor.
Fahrenheit Coffee
Found at 120 Lombard Street, Fahrenheit Coffee is another coffee shop that’s well worth visiting. The coffee here is good and although the café is reminiscent of some of the large coffee shop chains it is worth popping in and grabbing a cuppa. Selling cookies and cakes to accompany your coffee, this café has the family-run feel rather than the rushed feel you have with large corporations. Well worth a visit.
While Toronto is home to many wonderful coffee shops that do their best to serve up very tasty cups of the good stuff, the above establishments are in our opinion some of the very best. If grabbing a good cup of coffee is important to you then you’ll appreciate visiting each of these coffee shops and resting your weary legs and quenching your thirst somewhere special.
